Shane Watson on same page as coach Arthur
Having vowed to weigh up his future last week, Australia vicecaptain Shane Watson is en route to India with renewed confidence in the management that dropped him for a breach of team discipline.
Watson was suspended for the Third test along with pacemen James Pattinson and Mitchell Johnson, and batsman Usman Khawaja after all four failed to complete a written task.
On Monday the allrounder departed for the subcontinent, boosted by conversations with coach Mickey Arthur and high performance manger Pat Howard that have convinced him they are all on the same wavelength.
Watson expressed disappointment in some of Howard's remarks when he returned to Australia last week for the imminent birth of his first child.
Howard said Watson needed to sort out issues with captain Michael Clarke and that the allrounder was a team man only "sometimes".
Watson became a father on Thursday when his wife gave birth to son Will, and the 31yearold said on Monday this was the only reason he returned home last week.
He declared it the most special time of his life and revealed he had spent part of an intense week talking to Howard and Arthur.
"It's been great to be able to have a few very good chats to Pat Howard," Watson said.
"Constructive chats about the way we're going to move forward, moncler pas cher, because it's so important for us to be able to make sure we're on the same page and that we are really moving forward. |
